Yu Lin Mulberry Garden in Daxing District

The garden has about 500 ancient mulberry trees, most of which have a history of over 100 years. Some of the oldest are about 240 years old and under the special protection of Beijing's forestry department.

It is the largest ancient mulberry forest in northern China. The cultivation of mulberry trees here began as early as the Han Dynasty (BC206-220AD). The white mulberry bred here used to be served to the imperial families. Nowadays, purple mulberry is more popular among visitors.

Farmers at the garden suggest eating the mulberries as soon as they are picked off the branches because the fruits are very soft and difficult to store. The harvest period for mulberries is short and usually comes in the first 20 days of June.

The ticket is 40 yuan per person. 1kg of mulberries can be picked per person. The garden does not offer bags to store the mulberries so visitors are advised to bring their own bags or baskets.

Location: Gaodian Village, An'ding Town, Daxing District, Beijng
