Newly opened, New York International Restaurant is a small piece of Manhattan’s diverse culture right in the heart of Beijing. The classic American FM radio and food/art combination is a charming cultural addition to the international metropolis Beijing has become.

The walls at this 3 storey restaurant are adorned with an evolving collection of some of the best artists this Asian capital has to offer. In addition to an array of paintings, there are sculptures and photographs to complete the collection. The private dining rooms are filled with comfortable couches.

The food is both quality and quantity, served up in generous proportions at amazingly low prices. The menu is full of surprises, a melting pot served up by an Argentinean chef trained in a multitude of cuisines. The soups are thick and chunky. The Vitello Tonnata, a thin layer of veal topped with tuna sauce is an absolutely amazing combination of tastes. The sauce on the Carolina BBQ pork ribs is delicious and the lasagna is not your typical kind, with layers of bacon and spinach in the mix, topped with a chunky home made tomato salsa. The New York Cheesecake and classic Italian Tiramisu come highly recommended and the Swiss Chocolate Marquis is exquisite.

Whether you’re looking to check out some art, pig out on fine foods at amazingly low prices or just chill out in the downtown atmosphere, New York has it all.
